1. Use toothpaste
Surprisingly, toothpaste works well to soothe mosquito bites. Make sure you apply a toothpaste that is really minty as that is most effective. Toothpaste can burn your skin though, so remember not to leave it on for too long.
2. Ice it up
Ice numbs an area of your skin if you leave it on for a prolonged period of time. It does the same thing to a bite and because your skin is numb, you don’t feel the need to itch anymore.
3. Pour a little soda
Baking soda can be used in many ways and you can add soothing a mosquito bite to that list. It relieves an itch, making the skin around the bite less sensitive. All you have to do is mix a little baking soda with a small amount of water and apply it to the area.
4. A little lotion
If natural remedies aren’t quite your thing and you’d rather apply a lotion, calamine lotion works best. The lotion is topical and soothes irritation. It’s great to alleviate the itchiness of mosquito bites.
5. Essential oils
Essential oils take a bit longer than most natural remedies but they are very effective because they have anti-bacterial and anti-viral properties that can also help prevent infection. Tea tree and lavender oil work well to soothe itchiness.
