The rains might act as an obstruction to a romantic date that you have planned with your boyfriend, what with the flooded streets and traffic jams. But, don’t let the rains dampen the romance completely. Here’s what you can do to create some beautiful monsoon memories.
Long drives
This is the most romantic thing you can do on a rainy day. Just get in your car and drive off to nearby places such as Lonavala, Igatpuri or even just to Marine Drive. The cool breeze, trickles of water down the window and close quaters makes for a romantic setting. Have lunch at a pit stop on the highway or a cup of chai in the middle of nowhere. Play your favourite music along the way or your special song, if you have one.
Candlelight dinner
We know how flooded Mumbai gets with even a little rain and so going out for a proper dinner date is not a feasible idea. You can’t even dress up thanks to all the muck! So, plan a candlelight dinner in a balcony. With dim lights, soft music and the beautiful pouring rain, it can’t get any more romantic. You can even try cooking the meal together as it adds a bit of spice.
Quiet walks
Nothing else feels as romantic as going for a walk in the rain with your better half. Even sharing one umbrella when it pours and splashing water on each other is fun and romantic. It will help you spend some special moments together. Steal a quick kiss behind a tree to make it perfect.
Movie marathon
Sitting at home and watching a bunch of movies is what every couple does on a rainy day. But, you can do it a little differently. Go a little crazy and head to a cinema hall nearby to watch back to back movies that are playing there. It’s a great way to rev up your love life and show a little madness in the relationship.
Get wet in the rains
If you’re at home or just about anywhere, just run out in the rain and get wet along with your partner. Enjoy the showers, splash around some water and do a little Bollywood style running around the place, with him trying to catch you. We all need to act a little filmy now and then to mix things up a bit and what better timing to do that than during the lovely monsoon.
