Janhvi Patel talks to Shahid Kapoor about all things non-filmy
Pretty boy Shahid Kapoor is adorable and wins people over with his big, bright smile and boyish charm. He is the brand ambassador for Dulux paints and has done a few commercials for the same with Boman Irani. We talk to him about his choices in hues, the shades he would like to see his girl wear and his sense of style, among other non-filmy things.
When you date someone, what are the colours you would like to see her wear?
I think women look beautiful in black and red. Even nude shades look great on them. And obviously white!
What do you think about the trend of coloured pants these days?
Either you look really cool or you look really crappy in them. It depends on the fit and colour of the pants and who is wearing them. I am probably not somebody who would wear coloured pants off screen but on screen I would love to wear them.
A colour you would never wear?
I don’t like bright, loud colours. Any colour can look cool if it is muted and in the right shade. It isn’t about the colour, it is about the shade. My favourite colour has always been blue.
Do you find a lack of colour depressing?
Yes, lack of colour can be depressing. I don’t even like dim-lit places. If I am in a place that is dimly lit and doesn’t have a bright, colourful atmosphere, I won’t be able to stay there for long. I find colours such as white, grey and black soothing, calming and refreshing.
Which are the colours you do not like and which colour has grown on you over time?
It depends on where you see the colour and the shade of it. I dislike bright, loud colours in my clothes but I like them on walls. Dulux has come up with good shades that are bright but don’t hurt the eye. I don’t think guys should wear bright reds but the colour looks wonderful on women. I think red is a colour that has grown on me.
