While Mumbai will be saying bye-bye to the berry soon, Kasturi Gadge shows you how you can give the now sour berries an interesting twist and a fitting farewell

Ingredients

  •  60ml vodka
  •  4 lime wedges
  •  10 fresh basil leaves
  •  5 fresh strawberries
  •  30g grain sugar

Directions

  •  Muddle sugar, lime, basil leaves and strawberries. Add crushed ice and vodka. Stir well and serve.


Fresh Strawberry Mojito from 36 Oak & Barley
Ingredients

  •  White sugar, for rimming
  •  2 large limes, quartered
  •  1/2 bunch mint leaves
  •  7 strawberries, quartered
  •  200g white sugar
  •  250ml white rum
  •  500ml club soda
  •  20 ice cubes

Directions

  •  Pour 1/4 to 1/2 inch of sugar onto a small, shallow plate. Run one of the lime quarters around the rim of each cocktail glass, then dip the glasses into the sugar to rim the glass. Set aside.
  •  Squeeze all of the lime quarters into a sturdy glass pitcher. Toss the juiced limes into the pitcher along with the mint, strawberries, and 1 cup of sugar.
  •  Crush the fruit together with a muddler to release the juices from the strawberries and the oil from the mint leaves.
  •  Stir in the rum and club soda until the sugar has dissolved.
  •  Pour into the sugared glasses over ice cubes and serve.

Berry Melon Caipirinha from Sancho’s
Ingredients

  •  8 fresh strawberries
  •  30g sugar
  •  5 watermelon chunks
  •  60ml Cachaca (or white rum)
  •  90ml watermelon juice

Directions

  •  Muddle fresh strawberries with sugar and watermelon.
  •  Add Cachaca and watermelon juice to it.
  •  Serve chilled.


Strawberry julep from Tote Bar
Ingredients

  •  50ml Belvedere vodka
  •  8 fresh strawberries
  •  10 fresh mint leaves (no stalks)
  •  15ml sugar syrup

Directions

  •  Pour the syrup on the mint and muddle in the strawberries.
  •  Add vodka and top with crushed ice.
  •  Churn and re-top with crushed ice. Stir and garnish with a mint sprig and a strawberry.

Ingredients

  •  3-4 medium sized strawberries
  •  60ml lychee juice
  •  60ml white rum
  •  4-5 basil leaves
  •  500ml club soda
  •  1/2 lemon
  •  10g sugar

Directions

  •  Add the strawberries and sugar in a tall glass.
  •  Also add lime and basil leaves to it and crush it a little. Add lychee juice and rum to it. l Fill it up with ice and top it with soda.
