Dev Goswami tells you about Priyadarshini Rao’s collection, Chair-Worthy, which places a huge emphasis on hair
Fashion shows are synonymous with the trendiest clothes from the fashion world. However, Priyadarshini Rao’s Chair-Worthy collection isn’t just limited to clothes.
Presented by the hair care brand TRESmemmé, her collection has an effervescent display of hairstyles. From chic up dos and voluminous shiny hair to classic braids; hair is an important part of her collection. Recently debuted at the Lakme Fashion Week on August 4, this collection is a collaboration between Priyadarshini and TRESmemmé’s hair stylist Dharmesh Hingorani (known as Dodo).
Dharmesh tells us that their aim for the show was to create sleek and runway-ready hair that could be recreated at home. The hairstyles were complemented by Priyadarshini’s designs which featured taffeta trenches, mini dresses in bright colours, jackets with peplums, charcoal brocades and fine embroideries.
Speaking about the collaboration, Priyardarshini says, “The essence of our collaboration was the common belief that every design must be trendy, but realistic. Real women must be able to aspire and achieve the runway looks. Recognising this, we created looks that every woman can relate to.
The Chair-Worthy Collection is about enabling a woman to delve into a world that completely transforms her mood, where the outfits and hair play a critical role.”
