Just as in Hollywood, two sequels have been made for the sensational dance-centric ‘Step Up’ movie, ace director-choreographer Remo D’Souza too has started work on the script of the desi ‘ABCD 3’. Not surprising, as his movie ‘ABCD-2’ has just crossed the coveted Rs.102 crore collections mark in its third week at the box-office. One can expect the lead star actors Shraddha Kapoor and Varun Dhawan of this latest runaway hit to literally dance their way to their bank.
Gushes Shraddha , “It's really overwhelming for our entire team, that everybody seems to be 'fidaa' over our dancing. My dad (eminent actor Shakti Kapoor) and mom (Shivangi) shed tears of joy when they heard the ‘khush khabri’. Because this movie proved that apart from good acting I also have the calibre of a classy dancer.” Meanwhile, Remo seemed euphoric that finally a hardcore dance-movie has been well appreciated by repeat audiences.
“Way back in the yesteryear ‘golden era’ there were dance-based hit movies like Vijay Anand’s ‘Guide’, Bhagwan Dada’s ‘Albela’, and V Shantaram’s ‘Jhanak Jhanak Paayal Baje’. But when movies in the recent past like ‘Aaja Nachle’ starring Madhuri Dixit-Nene had not fared well, it was felt that it is essential to connect with today’s fast-paced westernized youth,” he shrugs.
