CFBP Consumer Film Festival crowns its winners!

Celebrating its 51st year, The Council For Fair Business Practices (CFBP) organised a prestigious and unique event: Godrej CFBP Consumer Film Festival, an initiative by CFBP President Kalpana Munshi in the interest of consumers

Godrej CFBP Consumer Film Festival’s Awards Night 2018 was held this weekend at the St. Regis Hotel, which was attended by various stalwarts from different walks of life.

Consumer Film Festival is a first of its kind initiative by the CFBP President, Kalpana Munshi, in what is being considered to be a game changing platform for individuals to creatively express themselves through various mediums on the subject of Consumer Protection and Awareness.

Felicitated in the presence of dignitaries like Adi Godrej, Shekhar Bajaj, Guests of Honour: Rajashree Birla, Justice B.N. Srikrishna and Yash Birla with Shatrughan Sinha as Chief Guest and Poonam Sinha and CFBP President Kalpana Munshi, also present were Raj K. Purohit (BJP MLA) and Arvind Sawant (Member of Lok Sabha).

A total of 2,900 entries, which is approximately 400 perc ent more than last years, received and judged by Jury members like legendary actor Boman Irani, ad guru, Padma Shri Piyush Pandey, award winning Screenwriter, Honey Irani, Force 2 and Delhi Belly director, Abhinay Deo, noted theatre and film actor, Makarand Deshpande, veteran theatre actor and casting director, Dolly Thakore, Justice Srikrishna, Rohit Gupta (President of Sony Ent), Prof. J. J Sabale (Dean of J.J. School of Arts), Ashok Mahajan Former Rotary International President Saameer Mody, helped in reaching out to many short film-makers.

During her speech, Rajashree Birla said, “Consumer focus is becoming, even more important in today’s world of social media, digital technologies and global connect. Consumers gravitate towards organisations that follow best business practices, provide good governance, and communicate transparently. Research after research indicates that investors too, are more than willing to pay a substantial premium for good governance. It is wonderful to see that the CFBP has been constantly championing these principles. For the primacy that the consumer is accorded today, much credit must go to the CFBP. Great work is being done by the CFBP, and with more power to their elbow, consumerism will reach higher peaks.”

Adi Godrej added that, “Council For Fair Business has played a remarkable role in encouraging Indian business to gain the Trust of all stakeholders. I appreciate the initiative taken by President Kalpana Munshi in the interest of young and senior consumers by organising this amazing consumer film festival involving the film fraternity, the media school, college students and NGOs who got the opportunity to display their skills in writing, acting and painting on consumer topics.”

Shatrughan Sinha said “Its an honour to be associated with this initiative spreading awareness about consumerism in such a constructive and creative manner, I would always lend my support for such creative and productive initiative! Congratulations to all the winners.”

The CFBP President, Kalpana Munshi was ecstatic and said on occasion of her farewell: “CFBP works for the consumer awareness and fair business practices, working as a bridge between the consumers and the corporate world. So I thought of creating awareness about it through consumers themselves by having a festival of competitions which brings out their creative skills in Writing, Painting, Acting, Storytelling and more. We’ve had an excellent eminent jury on board, Colleague and sponsors who appreciated the great efforts of the Film Festival Team in organising the Godrej CFBP Consumer Film Festival for the second time in succession.”
