As the 'Kisan Morcha' ended last evening, the Central Railway took the initiative to make arrangements for the farmers to commute back to Nashik.
According to official sources, the Central Railway arranged two special trains for the farmers from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) to Bhusawal. The first special train at 8.50 pm had 13 special coaches while another train at 10 pm had 18 special coaches.
Central Railway sources said that special extra coaches were added to accommodate the farmers in three express trains -- one extra General Coach was attached to Panchavati Express departing at 6.15 pm, another one to the Howrah Mail via Allahbad at 9.30 pm, and one in Dadar-Shirdi Express at 9.45 pm. Sources claimed that one train will carry approximately 100 to 110 passengers.
Official sources claimed that the Bhusawal passenger train at 5.50 am in the morning was available for the farmers who could not travel by any other means. "We are making the arrangements for the farmers to ease their commute. Two special trains were allotted yesterday only for the farmers. We are happy to make the allotments", said Sunil Udasi, Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO), Central Railway.
Apart from that, Central Railway sources claimed that Rajyarani Express (Mumbai to Manmad) which departs from Mumbai at 6.35 pm was also available for the farmers.
Official sources claimed that even though special accommodations have been made, the train journey remained chargeable as per the regular charges.
