The Central, Western, Indian Railway Catering Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), Centre for Railway Information System (CRIS) authorities have denied the IRCTC website of being hacked. Interacting with the press the authorities stated that the four member committee including two officers from the railway board and two from IRCTC have submitted the report and stated that the website is working normally and was not hacked.
S.K. Sood, General Manager, Central Railway, said, “The IRCTC website is working normally and fine and it does not appear to be hacked. The committee which was formed in order to check on the website has given its report and have stated that the website has not been hacked. We want the passengers using the website to know that the information is totally safe and to not panic.”
When asked if the IRCTC have filed an official complaint with the Delhi Cyber Cell for any information leak, the railway authorities appeared confused with first confirming that an FIR has been filed with the Delhi Cyber cell and later denying any FIR.
Arvind Malkhede, General Manager, IRCTC, said, “We have confirmed with the Delhi IRCTC and the organisation has not filed any FIR with the Delhi Cyber Cell. The investigation was done internally and it has been revealed that the website was not hacked.”
