
The police are investigating whether the 75-year-old man has any nexus with druglords
The Vakola Police have arrested a 75-year-old man, who used to supply drugs to most of the college students of Santacruz east. The arrested accused was nabbed after a tip off. Police are now trying to find out about the nexus under which he used to operate, and are attempting to ascertain whether he was only a seller, or whether he was working with some drug lords.
An informer from Dhobhi Ghat in Vakola used to habitually witness the arrested accused Narhari Babaji Krishaji being regularly visited by many college students. The people in the area were stumped as to why the students us to constantly accost him, and wondered as to why the students did so.
The informer then contacted the Vakola police and informed them, about the unusual visits of the college students to the accused house. Police then laid a trap and caught him red handed. When he was brought to the police station, he confessed to his crime.
While sources from the police revealed that, there were few college student who used to purchase drugs from Narhari at cheap rates, and the students in turn became pushers themselves supplying to to other college students at higher rates. Till now Narhari has yet to reveal any other name of his associates, but there are few women associated with him who all are a part of the gang, but they are still at large.
Narhari has been booked under The Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and the police is investigating his links. “During the investigation, Narhari said that he does not go to the customer, but they themselves come to his house to purchase the drugs,” said a police officer.
“He has been arrested and is in our custody. We have booked him under NDPS act. More people canebe involved in this case. The investigation in on,” said Vakola senior police inspector Mahadev Valve.
Police Sub Inspector (PSI) Sanjay Pawar has played a vital role to nab him and around 500 grams of drugs were seized from his possession, Vavle added.
