The Amitabh Bachchan-Taapsee Pannu starrer ‘Badla’ crossed Rs85 crore collections at the box office a few days ago in the course of its first 31 days. Tweeted an apparently rattled Amitabh on Tuesday: “... about time someone started talking about this silent success!! Because neither the producer, nor the distributor, nor the online producer, or any else in the industry, in general ... has even spent a nano second to compliment the success of this film. Thank you.” Since colleague Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment had produced the film, it was perhaps fitting that the former reply. And answer, Shah Rukh did, with: “Sir hum toh wait kar rahein hain ki aap party kab de rahein hain hum sabko! We are waiting outside Jalsa every nite! (Sir, we were waiting for you to throw a party for all of us! We wait outside your residence every night!)”. Amitabh subsequently retorted (with portions penned in Hindi): “Oye! I was the one who worked in the film. You were the one to produce it. For the promotions all of us helped you out. Now do you expect me to throw the party, too? What’s more, nobody is waiting outside of my residence Jalsa at night!” To which Shah Rukh Khan pleaded, “Sir film aapki hai…acting aapki hai…Hit aapki wajah se hai…aap na hote toh film hi na hoti. Toh party…bhi?? (Sir, the film is yours…the acting is yours…it was a hit due to you…if it weren’t for you, the film wouldn’t exist. So why not…the party, too?)”. We’re quite amused!
