Actor Hrithik Roshan has shared that he met a 69-year-old boatman while shooting for ‘Super 30’ who was the father of two children. While interacting with him, Hrithik was sensitive enough to realise that both he and the boatmen shared common concerns about their children and highlighted it in a social media post writing: "The boatman had the exact life that I have! As in he had two sons just like me. His fears, his concerns, his joy whatever feelings his brain was experiencing at that point of time was exactly what my brain was experiencing if not exactly the same. At that point in time, I felt we were exactly the same. The only difference in our experiences is, he is on a boat and mine is on a stage”. That’s a rare perception, say we, for a film industry that is mostly caught up in hierarchies and social strutting.
In a push for equality, British broadcaster ITV last week banned all-male writing teams for its comedy shows. ITV’s head of comedy, Saskia Schuster said: “Too often the writing room is not sensitively run. It can be aggressive and slightly bullying.” A timely move, then.
Well-known entrepreneur Ronnie Screwvala recently posted this inspirational quote by Swami Vivekananda on his social media handle: “Take up one idea. Make that one idea your life -- think of it, dream of it, live on that idea. Let the brain, muscles, nerves, every part of your body, be full of that idea, and just leave every other idea alone. This is the way to success.” On his part, Ronnie added: “Focus on one thing and channel all your energy to pursue the same”.
