People are still talking about actor Ranveer Singh’s ‘surreal’ ensemble at the CWC India-Pakistan match at Manchester last Sunday. The actor wore what looked like an overcoat and a scarf designed with door-handle motifs along with oversize glares that were almost the size of his face. Ranveer also managed to pose with every cricketer and ex-cricketer worth his name and subsequently posted individual pictures of himself with Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya, Shikhar Dhawan, Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Sourav Ganguly and Harbhajan Singh on his social media handle. The star of ‘Simmba’ also did a brief presentation for a television sports channel covering the match, as the spectators streamed into the Old Trafford and the players were warming up. Undoubtedly, he made a good job of it and yet, on the sidelines, additionally grooved on-camera for some other Indian TV presenters who were covering the tournament. Incidentally the actor is at the World Cup venue for serious intent, i.e. to promote his upcoming sports movie ‘83’. In the film, directed by Kabir Khan, Ranveer plays the role of former Indian cricket captain Kapil Dev who led the Indian team to World Cup glory in 1983. But at Manchester, the energetic and funky actor managed to make the cricketing experience a whole lot of fun for viewers of the game.
