Former Deputy Chief Minister and senior NCP leader Chhagan Bhujbal yesterday blasted the BJP-led government in the state as well as in Centre, saying both have miserably failed on each and every front. After being released on bail in the disproportionate assets case, Bhujbal made his first speech at a party function on yesterday. He addressed the party's 'Halla Bol Yatra' in Pune. Significantly, most of the party leaders were on the dais, but all eyes were on the OBC strongman and as per expectations, he showed the same aggression as before.
Bhujbal Said, “This government has bolted the door on the farmers. Not a single farmer is satisfied. Where are the much hyped 'acche din'. Now the time has come that I will take up the various issues of the agrarian community to the street. I can not keep quiet during such precarious situation in the state.”
“The total expense of the construction of Maharashtra Sadan was 100 crores and the allegation on me is that I have made a scam of 800 crores. I have full faith in the judiciary and I am confident that I will be acquitted from all the charges leveled on me,” the furious NCP leader said.
Bhujbal made his entry at party's rally and proved himself as the real showstopper for the party on its 20th Foundation Day. Bhujbal got bail after nearly two years in jail for a number of cases. His nephew and former NCP MP, Sameer Bhujbal, too, has got bail. There have been reports of Bhujbal being disturbed over the lack of party support during his time in prison. Also, he sent his son, Pankaj Bhujbal, to Matoshree – Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray’s residence – to thank the latter for his support. Against the backdrop of these political developments, Bhujbal made his comeback with the attacking speech.
