Kyoorius, organiser of popular design conferences, announced the launch of ‘Kyoorius Awards’ in partnership with International Advertising Association and Design and Art Direction (D&AD) to bring together and appreciate the design community in India at Blue Frog, yesterday.
The concept behind these awards is simple and aims to keep the aesthetics of design in mind. Interested contestants are given the choice of nine categories to choose and apply for under print, packaging, digital, retail and design for good. The first award ceremony will be held at 9th Kyoorius Designyatra in Goa on August 29.
The Jury panel which comprises well known creative minds in the world will be physically present in order to connect and discuss student entries (rather than online).
Rajesh Kejriwal, founder-CEO, Kyoorius, said, “It is not an industry body, not an association but a platform. What we wanted to do is create a platform for creative design talent. Also, here we’ve ensurde that all design entered will be meaningful and fun and not just for the sake of selling a brand.”
As the call for entries has begun and will end on June 18, will Kyoorius awards manage to make its mark? Or will it dissipate into the myriad of design awards already taking place in India?
